What is an ICO file?

ICO (Icon) is a file format used for computer icons on Microsoft Windows systems. ICO files contain one or more small images at multiple sizes and color depths, allowing them to scale appropriately. They're commonly used for application icons, website favicons, and folder icons.

Why can't I view ICO files directly in my browser?

Most modern browsers don't natively support ICO rendering as an image format. Our viewer converts ICO files to browser-compatible PNG format in real-time, allowing you to view, annotate, and edit them without any special software. This conversion happens entirely in your browser - your files never leave your device.

How do I add annotations to my icon?

To annotate:

1. Upload your ICO file
2. Select 'Add Text' or 'Marker' from the Annotations section
3. Click on the icon where you want to place the annotation
4. For text annotations, click the text to edit content
5. Drag to reposition annotations
6. Use the 'Show/Hide' toggle to manage visibility

All annotations are included when you export the icon.

How do I navigate the icon?

For detailed inspection:

• Zoom: Use Ctrl+Scroll or the zoom controls
• Pan: Select the pan tool and drag the icon
• Reset: Use the 'Reset All' button to return to default view
• Rotation: Use the rotate button to change orientation

The viewer can handle ICO files up to 5MB in size.
